Sarah Booker

Director/Teacher

Hey Guys! I have been in the early childhood education field since 2007. My experience includes overseeing all operations of a private In-home preschool and ensuring compliance with California Community Care Licensing requirements, and General Child Care guidelines. I have been planning, directing, and coordinating integrated services in the areas of education, outreach, social services, health, nutrition, and other related components of high-quality kindergarten readiness programs for over a decade. I have achieved this through the creation and implementation of operating policies and procedures, and continually pursuing a culture of passion and excellence through on-going training, positive reinforcement, and accountability.

Mission

Growing Wings is a Small Family Daycare Homes mission is to provide services that meet the needs of the whole child in the context of family and community. We will achieve this by providing quality childcare by nurturing the children, teaching parenting strategies that promote healthy parent-child relationships, and enhanced support through community partnerships to promote stability and growth. This program is designed to meet the individual and developmental needs of each child. We are committed to creating experiences that support and enrich each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, linguistic, physical, and creative abilities. We will use research-based strategies and activities, with a special emphasis on emotional regulation, relationship building, and friendship skills.

Health & Safety

Growing Wings ELC preforms quality assurance checks on a regular basis, the information is reviewed to ensure that we meet the performance standards and all children and staff are free from injury and harm.

Health & Safety education is provided to children and parents. Children may learn these procedures during classroom activities and at home with parental involvement.  Health & Safety Curriculum resources include multiple activities that support overall safety. Teachers integrate these topics into lesson plans and activities. These activities include:
Pedestrian Safety – monthly
Fire Safety – monthly
Earthquakes – every other month
Disaster Safety – intermittently
Sun Safety – seasonally
Water Safety – seasonally

Covid-19

Here at  Growing wings early learning we will follow all CDC recommendations as follows:

Encourage staff to take everyday preventive actions to prevent the spread of respiratory illness.

  • Wash hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

  • Always wash hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.

  • Remember to supervise young children when they use hand sanitizer to prevent swallowing alcohol.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

  • Cover cough and sneezes.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face covering when you have to go out in public.

  • Cloth face coverings should NOT be put on babies and children under age two because of the danger of suffocation.
